BEAUMONT SCHOOL STORIES


If I were a little boy called Charlie in a reception class and a year 8 pupil from a nearby secondary school visited my classroom and said she was my ‘reading buddy’ and was going to create a picture book for me, I know I  would be thrilled. And if that year 8 pupil then said I could choose the main character and the subject of my story, I know I would be even more thrilled because the story could be all about me and my special powers.

In my next post I'll tell you more about how, last term, I helped 60 year 8 pupils at Beaumont School, St Albans, create picture books for reception class pupils at a nearby primary school; a great project that has been running for several years.
