Following on from Winnie’s small indiscretion with the
pudding last week at the literary lunch, here are two more misbehaving dogs:
Marcus Agrippa (Gripper for short) recorded here stealing the Christmas turkey.(I was about ten at the time.) The remains of the bird were cleverly garnished with something delicious and served up as if nothing had happened.
And the dog who manages to wreck the dam in ‘We’re Going to Build a Dam.’ (To be published in March 2013).
I love the determined look in the dog's eye as he slavers over the turkey! It reminds me of the year in my own childhood when our cat went next door and ate the roast pheasant that the old lady called Idwin had cooked for Christmas dinner for her elderly brother and sister. He apparently ate the lot! We only found out from somebody else in the village because Idwin herself had determined not to 'tell' on our Leo!
